The Minnesota High Tech Association reported in its newsletter Tuesday that Google Inc. has officially become a member of the trade organization.
Does this mean Minnesota is getting a big data center? A software-development office? Anything?
Andrew Wittenborg, communications director for MHTA, said Google hasn’t indicated whether or not it plans to set up shop in Minnesota.
Google approached MHTA “a while back” and all the paperwork was recently finalized, he said.
The company doesn't have any offices here and doesn't show any Minnesota-based job openings on its careers website.
Perhaps this will revive the campaign to get Google to open a data center at the site of the Ford Plant in St. Paul.
